Mobitel Successful with HSDPA and EDGE
Europe : Mobitel is successfully upgrading its mobile network with the latest technologies. The upgrade to HSDPA and EDGE technologies is progressing according to plans, and will be finished in the following months. 70 percent of Mobitel’s networks have already been upgraded. Mobitel is upgrading its mobile networks efficiently and according to plans. Mobitel’s teams of technicians have already enabled megabit transfer speeds with HSDPA technology (up to 3.6 Mbps) in 70 percent of the Mobitel UMTS network. The upgrade of the GSM network to EDGE technology is also progressing quickly. Both networks will be completely upgraded in the following months.

Mobitel UMTS coverage now reaches 71.8% of the population. The use of Mobitel UMTS is spreading fast, as there are already 120 thousand users of third generation mobile telecommunications.
Mobitel also at Planica
Mobitel will again be ensuring the coverage of the UMTS/HSDPA network in Planica this year. All users will have access to an in-depth coverage of all the events on the Planet portal. Until 15th March Planet will also be hosting a grand competition “Take a Busload of Your Friends to Planica”. Planet will take the lucky winner to see the finals of World cup ski jumps, which will be held on 25th March in Planica, and will do so with a bus, on which all of the winner’s friends are also invited. The competition questions and content about Planica can be found on the mobile Planet portal under the headings “Novo” (New) and “Šport” (Sports), and for a quick access to the competition they can send an SMS message with the word P PLANICA to 1919.
